About the Catamount Senior Elite Hockey League
The Catamount Senior Elite Hockey League (CSEHL) was built on passion, community, and the love of the game. Founded in Vermont, the league brings together competitive men’s league players from across the region who share a simple goal — to keep hockey alive at the local level.
More than just a league, the CSEHL is a brotherhood. It’s a place where former college players, weekend warriors, and lifelong teammates come together to compete hard, laugh harder, and carry on the traditions that make Vermont hockey special. Every season delivers fast-paced action, fierce rivalries, and the kind of locker-room camaraderie that defines the game.
What started as a small idea quickly grew into one of Vermont’s premier men’s hockey leagues — thanks to players like Chris Thompson, whose vision and dedication helped build the CSEHL from the ground up. His commitment to teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun set the tone for what this league stands for today.
Whether you’re a player, a fan, or a local business looking to support grassroots hockey, the Catamount Senior Elite Hockey League is proud to represent the best of Vermont’s hockey community — competitive, connected, and built on tradition.
Our Mission
To provide a competitive, community-driven men’s hockey league that celebrates Vermont’s passion for the game, encourages sportsmanship, and keeps the spirit of local hockey alive for generations to come.
League Structure
The CSEHL features top-level adult players from across Vermont, divided into multiple teams competing throughout the winter season. Games are hosted at local rinks, with full stat tracking, team standings, and league awards at the end of each year.
League History
Founded by Chris Thompson, the Catamount Senior Elite Hockey League began with a handful of passionate players and one simple goal: to keep hockey local. Over time, the league grew into Vermont’s most competitive and tightly-knit men’s hockey community. Today, Thompson’s vision continues to shape the league’s identity both on and off the ice.
