Opening Weekend — BYE

THE LAST TWO CHAMPS WILL HAVE TO WAIT.

Two of the league’s most successful teams won’t hit the ice on October 11, as the Slugs and Chicken Hawks both open the season with a bye.

The Slugs enter the year as defending champions, adding yet another title to a run that has made them the team everyone wants to knock off.

And if there’s one team that knows how to do it, it’s the Chicken Hawks.

Two seasons ago, the Chicken Hawks dethroned the Slugs and captured the championship themselves. They couldn’t repeat last year, but they’ll enter this season with some new faces in the lineup and another shot at taking back the top spot.

Opening weekend belongs to the rest of the league.

The last two champions will be watching. For now.
